The Bible does not give us a single, detailed chart of the afterlife. Its language comes from many centuries, literary genres, and historical settings. It speaks of Sheol, Hades, Paradise, Gehenna, resurrection, the age to come, heaven, judgment, and new creation. These terms overlap, but they are not interchangeable.
