Is the Governing Body Your Guardian?

In his letter to the Galatians, the apostle Paul explains that faithful servants of God were once under a guardian or tutor. (Galatians 3:24,25) So by claiming that it is their responsibility and role to “shepherd the flock” and to make decisions that, in their view, help the whole community remain spiritually clean and united, the governing body would, in effect, have us believe that God saw it necessary to release his faithful worshipers from under the supervision of one guardian (the Mosaic Law) only to place them under another one (The Faithful and Discreet Slave). But that would run counter to Paul’s point. He explicitly says we are no longer under a guardian.

One reply on “Is the Governing Body Your Guardian?”

Thanks for the work on this as, at least for me, it is what I have been thinking for years. The ‘Org.’ is changing so fast but the GB still wants control so they seem to be painting themselves into a corner; unless the ‘loosening’ of restrictions is needed to keep more from leaving (check the Service Year Reports, as for every 2 baptized, one is leaving) all the while attempting to stay in structured control.
What will it all look like in 10 years?
