When I was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses back in the 70’s, we took pride in being able to defend the truth before anyone. It seems that is no longer the case as witnesses are regularly instructed in publications, at meetings and assemblies and in videos presented on JW Broadcasting, not to engage with persons that raise questions about or criticize the teachings of the governing body.
With the advent of the internet, more and more people have access to information. The organization’s response to this is to say that Satan the Devil uses this means as a way to spread misinformation. But instead of fortifying witnesses with the ability to counteract such lies by sharing the truth, they are admonished to avoid engaging with anyone critical of the organization. But their attempts at trying to explain that this approach is following biblical examples are futile.
