Jehovah’s Witnesses regularly prepare those whom they study the Bible with for the possibility of facing rejection by family members and friends for the choice they have made to study with the witnesses. They view this as persecution which was outlined by Jesus in Matthew 10:34-36. However, they fail to acknowledge that the same treatment is meted out to any baptized witness that later wants to resign as a witness in order to serve God apart from the Watchtower organization.
