Would it be loving for a parent to promise his child that a trip to an amusement park was coming soon, knowing that it would not occur in the child’s lifetime? How then could we imagine that God would do such a thing?
From the beginning of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society in 1879 until the present, more than 100 years, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been promised that a new world was just around the corner. Many have died with the certainty that they would see it happen in their lifetime, yet they were sadly disappointed. Clearly, the promotion of this mirage, that disappears each time they get close, has not been in the best interests of loyal witnesses, nor has it honored God.
