While admitting that all Christians in the first century were declared righteous by God and had the hope of reigning with Christ as sons of God, Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that today the vast majority of their members do not have this hope. Instead they look forward to working towards bringing the earth to a paradise for 1,000 years as subjects of God’s Kingdom. During that time they will be judged, along with resurrected ones from the past, whether righteous or unrighteous, as to their worthiness of finally becoming children of God at the end.
